Hot off their appearance

Buckcherry at their exclusive Kerrang! Awards Show performance on 30th July at
the HMV Forum in Kentish Town, London.
“This is gonna be a show
not to be missed by any fucking chance!” says frontman Jyrki69 “Your favorite
Helsinki Vampires gonna make you bleed, just to then get lit up by Buck-Fuckin'-cherry,
man!!! This night IS devoted to sex, blood and rock'n'roll!!!”
In preparation for their
new album, “Back In Blood”, the band have also announced an exclusive

Attended The 69 Eyes CD Listening Party
last night in my birthplace, New York City. Mark my words, The 69 Eyes have
created a rock and roll masterpiece of gothic proportions! It is dark, it is
heavy and they are "Back In Blood". When Jyrki says this was 20 years in the
making, he was right, this album IS THE 69 EYES! The three songs that left a
lasting impression from only hearing the CD 3 times were the title track
"Back In Blood", "Dead And Gone" and "Some Kind Of Magick" and if I had to
describe the CD I would use the following words: dark, heavy, gothic, and
ORIGINAL. Jyrki's vocals are powerful and as they should be, directly from
his soul. You can feel the passion in his voice. I just can't wait to
see them perform the new songs live along with some of their best songs. It
will be amazing!
I am so proud of them
and can't wait for the rest of the world to see what they are bringing to them
this time around!!!!!
As you know, The 69 Eyes
reunited with director Bam Margera for “Dead Girls Are Easy”, the first video
from their upcoming album “Back In Blood”. Being a huge fan of Bam’s video for
“Lost Boys” five years ago, I was thrilled to hear that he would be directing
this video. I was even more excited to have the pleasure of being there to see
the filming of the video over the past two days in Pennsylvania! First of all I
have to say that I was extremely impressed by the production crew in general…Bam
has a great team and it was awesome to meet so many interesting people! I was
quite nervous about feeling out of place and in the way, but that was not the
case. I was warmly welcomed by everyone and as both a friend and a fan it was
great to see The 69 Eyes again! All of the guys, I mean vampires look fantastic
and are very optimistic and enthusiastic about the new album! I know they are
eager for it to be released and made available to everyone so they can get on
the road and tour!
I can’t give away the dark
vampire video secrets, as I have a made a vow to the Vampire King, but I will
give you a few little bites, in no particular order:
· I personally found the
new song to be much heavier and leaving me chanting “Dead! Dead! Dead!” (I still
have Jyrki’s voice singing with me in my head tonight as I write this!).
· The video is oozing with
SEXY vampires!
· Dead girls rock!!!
· Fangs! Blood! Sexy Vampires!!
· THE 69 EYES!!!!!!!!!
All teasing aside, I am
really looking forward to seeing the video once it is complete. I am certain it

Johnny Lee Michaels has been granted temporary leave from the batcave and Matt
Hyde (Slayer/Monster Magnet) has been invited over the threshold to produce the
record.
In anticipation of the
album's impending release, the band will be making an appearance in New York
City next Friday, June 12th at The Arrow in the East Village. The new album will
be spun in full, and the band will be mingling with fans, signing autographs,

BLOOD IS THE NEW BLACK
“ This record rocks ten times harder
than anything The 69 Eyes have previously done”- Matt Hyde (producer)
Sharpen your fangs, The Helsinki
Vampires are back. And this time, they’re ‘Back In Blood’. The 69 Eyes return
with their ninth studio album, which has been hailed a latter-day ‘Appetite For
Destruction’. With blood on their hands and AC/DC on their stereo, the
bloodsuckers have combined their past to focus on the future. Turning their back
on the comic book glam of ‘Angels’, The Eyes have opened a heavier chapter in
their musical career. For the first time this decade, honorary sixth vampire
Johnny Lee Michaels has been granted temporary leave from the batcave and Matt
Hyde (Slayer/Monster Magnet) has been invited over the threshold.
“ He’s cleaned the table and dusted the
skeletons!” singer Jyrki 69 laughs. “It’s like when Rick Rubin helped The Cult
discover them on ‘Electric’ - we made a similar spiritual journey with Matt.”
Once again The 69 Eyes have their finger
on the pulse of darkness with 12 goth ‘n’ roll anthems guaranteed to rock the
crypt. “We haven’t made a concept album but nearly all the songs have something
to do with the undead or at least horror as a genre.” The album opens with title
track ‘Back In Blood’, which is a fast-paced wake-up call to the vampire king
who’s been asleep for centuries and is now ready to rock. Blood is the new black
and it’s never tasted this good: “2000 years – now, baby I’m back!” he sings,
licking his lips. Jyrki describes the song as: “More Mötley than Mercy but with
a Crüe made of Sisters.”
The first single will be the
tongue-in-cheek ‘Dead Girls Are Easy’ – a nasty power anthem for sleazy pin-ups
complete with a sing-a-long chorus aimed at those online chicks with the looks
that kill! The video has been directed by MTV superstar and close friend Bam
Margera, who was also responsible for the Eyes’ rock homage to ‘80s cult movie
‘The Lost Boys’. Matt Hyde’s ultra-tight production has brought the danger back
to The 69 Eyes’ sound. The producer reveals: “I’ve tried to feature the guitars,
drums and vocals - the core sound of the band. I wanted them to rock and I
wanted less emphasis on outside orchestration and keyboards with more real power
and emotion through the performance itself.” But it’s not just danger that
Matt’s unleashed – he shares the same passion for horror and comics as Jyrki and
the results of their marathon viewing sessions have seeped through onto disc. “
The artwork has been designed by Estevan
Oriol, whose work has graced countless covers from Cypress Hill to The
Transplants and Snoop Dogg. “I’ve been a fan of his iconic images for years –
he’s like a present-day Andy Warhol. I’m so happy that he agreed to work with us
because it’s given this record a real ‘made in LA’ stamp.” Recording ‘Back in
Blood’ in Hollywood also put The 69 Eyes in a prime location for well-known
visitors. Brides Of Destruction’s London LeGrand and Care Failure from Die
Mannequin are among the familiar names listed on the credits. But this isn’t
just a party album; it’s a great rock record… and if you’re into vampires,
you’ll enjoy it even more!
“ We’ve worked so hard over the last two
years since ‘Angels’ was released.” says Jyrki. “We played around 125 shows
worldwide but all our sacrifices paved the way for the birth of this baby. ‘Back
In Blood’ is a culmination of 20 years worth of hard work.”
If you want blood, you’ve got it!

Faultline will be releasing 150 tickets
on Wed, June 3rd for under 18's, Sydney show only!
Nuclear Blast Records is proud to announce the signing of
Finnish Goth ´n´ Roll legends THE 69 EYES! The “Eyes” have reached the top of an
entire genre by now and can surely be seen as the inventors of vampire inspired
music also as they made it so successfully popular throughout the 1990's up til
now.
Commented vocalist Jyrki 69:
"The situation for The 69 Eyes was great because so many
labels showed interest in working with us. We were very happy how Nuclear Blast
worked our "Goth'N'Roll" box set and it is overwhelming to start this next
chapter for The 69 Eyes by releasing our new studio album through Nuclear
Blast! They're the mightiest metal label there is and we're proud to deliver them
such a powerful album. Together we definitely will ROCK THE METAL!!!"
The brand new THE 69 EYES album is going to be released on

MT: Give me an update on what is
going on for 2009 as far as the CD and touring.
Jyrki: We just finished touring
nearly a month in Europe which was a pleasure to have a relaxing month before
going to the studio. Relaxing means that it was really nice to play this tour
with Tiamat and it was so hard core tour that the people who came to see the
shows were there because of the bands. So they were hard core fans so it was
really a pleasure to meet and greet everybody and play that nice tour and now we
are nearly all in LA at this moment I am the last one to go there and we are
going to go there and finish recording the next album. Much has been said
already about the next album, but would could I add. I have revealed or hinted
that it's a vampire rock album. A lot of lyrics or themes are flirting with the
vampire image and movies and you know, subjects around it. The baseline there is
that the producer Matt Hyde wants to make a great 69 Eyes album. He wants us to
sound as The 69 Eyes and the 69 Eyes sound that he's talking about is the sound
that we heard the first time on "Blessed Be" album and I think his addition for
our sound will be a classic rock sound. Classic rock means like sound of AC/DC
and Led Zeppelin and all these big rock bands. He wants us to sound, big rocking
and as The 69 Eyes and also not to forget the term Goth N Roll because of course
the sound could be described as that as well. That's all I can say at the
moment. I know the recordings are going extremely well and actually there are
going to be some guests on the record and a few surprises coming up but I am so
thrilled. There is really cool news coming up about the record labels and tours
and everything very shortly before summer time, but I want everything to be
confirmed. I think some people for instance down under will be very surprised
and happy soon!

THE 69 EYES INTO STUDIO WITH SLAYER AND
MONSTER MAGNET PRODUCER
The 69 Eyes will start recording their next, ninth studio album with the Grammy
awarded producer Matt Hyde. He is mostly known from his works with Slayer,
Monster Magnet and Fu Manchu. The recording process will take place both in
Helsinki and Los Angeles. Still the unnamed album will come in this September, a
possible video & single cut earlier early summer.
"We used Slayer's "God Hates Us All" for long to wake us up before the shows on
tour back then, I guess that's where the name Matt Hyde came into our mind.
It'll be very interesting to work with him. We have so good material at the
moment!" says drummer Jussi69.

A few words from Jyrki69...
MT: How are things going with the
new CD? Can you give us a studio update and any tentative plans for the release
and tours in 2009? A few hints on the style of the music this time???
J69: We're close to having
all the songs ready by now. The recording will start in the early 2009. It'll be
pure 69 Eyes stuff and that's the main issue and the best thing on it. Solid.
MT: Pirates of the Baltic Sea is a
valiant effort. Can you give me your personal feelings and insight on this
project?
J69: It's pretty cool to
have a sort of "own tv show" now. We did our best for the project and campaign
to rise people's awareness of the climate change and environmental issues we are
having these days. Let's see what happens after the show - the first episode
just came out, it was very successful, 5 more weeks to go. It was very different
from just being in a band but naturally suited us very well since The 69 Eyes
and us are not "just a band"....
MT: 2009 marks the 20th Anniversary of
The 69 Eyes. What is the secret to keeping it alive and thriving for all
these years?
J69: I think I already
answered that: The 69 Eyes is not "just a band". Fans already know that. We knew
that at the first time we met...

THE 69 EYES: "GOTH'N'ROLL"
The 69 Eyes celebrate Halloween this year by releasing a four
disc
box set called ”Goth’N’Roll”. The release date is November 12th.
The ”Goth’N’Roll” box set is this season’s MUST for all The 69
Eyes fans
and followers of Gothic Rock genre. The box set contains three CDs and
one DVD. The theme of the box set is the turn of the century with The
69 Eyes – the years that brought the Eyes into the Finnish mainstream
success as well as into the Central European Gothic and metal scene as
a household name as it is these days.
The band had been together already ten years when their most
successful albums to date ”Blessed Be” (2000) and ”Paris Kills” (2002)
were released. Not only commercially most successful, these albums are
still considered among The 69 Eyes fans as the “classic” ones. The
band as touring restlessly for the albums and the victorious home
coming show was filmed at Tavastia Club in Helsinki and released as a
DVD called “Helsinki Vampires” (2003). These remastered albums and the
DVD with bonuses are the unholy trinity for the box set.
The third CD of the box set is a treasure for the fans:
never-before-
released demos, live tracks and remixes! The whole journey starts with
the first demo version of the infamous “Gothic Girl” dating back ten
years ago. The DVD also includes an unreleased documentary called “Bat
Habit” showing The 69 Eyes taking over at M’era Luna festival in 2002.
“Our German record company then, Roadrunner Records, came up
with the
term “Goth’N’Roll”. It referred us to flirt with both Goth and
Rock’n’Roll, so it suits perfectly as a title for this box set!” says
the vocalist Jyrki 69. “Fans always tell us that those two albums are
our classics, so we thought to put out a definitive package from that
period of pastis and black latex! Like, here’s more cult to worship
suckers!”
The beautiful python skin pvc wrapped “Goth’N’Roll” box set is
a bible
like designer piece. The liner notes in the illustrated 28-page
booklet are written by Natasha Scharf from Metal Hammer UK. The
booklet also contains all the lyrics and photos.
The 69 Eyes will tour with TIAMAT in Europe in February 2009.

MICHAEL MONROE: PIRATES OF THE BALTIC SEA single released on Friday 9/19/08
The Baltic Sea is the most polluted sea in the world. Worldwide climate change
affects us all. "Operaatio Maa" ("Operation Earth"), a new series starting in
November on Finnish TV channel 4, features three separate teams with different
environmental causes. Rock stars Jyrki 69 and Jussi 69 from The 69 Eyes form one
of the teams, that will man the barricades for saving the Baltic Sea: they have
formed an anarchistic environmental movement called "Pirates Of The Baltic Sea"
and invite everyone aboard the ship that sails under the green Jolly Roger!
Hanoi Rocks' frontman Michael Monroe joined the Pirates and created a powerful,
anthemic call to arms that aims to wake people up from their apathy and to take
action: every single living soul CAN take part in saving the Baltic Sea. Michael
Monroe has always been an actively aware person, even back in the day: in the
80's he participated in the Sun City project, which was Bruce Springsteen's and
Little Steven's worldwide musical protest against apartheid. Besides singing the
song along with a bunch of other international rock stars, Michael Monroe can be
seen in the legendary Sun City music video.
With the song "Pirates Of The Baltic Sea" Michael Monroe appears at his most
aggressive, and punky for quite some while. The international band of misfits
that recorded the song with Michael is a true rock'n'roll crew of the highest
order: Jussi 69 behind the drums, underground legend Adam Bomb on the guitar,
Warrior Soul's Kory Clarke singing backup, and Backyard Babies' Dregen on the
guitar as well. A music video for "Pirates Of The Baltic Sea" - directed by
Tuukka Temonen - was shot a short while ago on the Baltic Sea aboard the marine
research vessel Aranda.
And check out the official site below...I don't speak Finnish so I have no idea
what all of this means on the site, but you can see Jyrki and Jussi pretending
(the pants are getting lower) to be Pirates and there is a new song/video with
Michael Monroe and Jussi on the boat! Jussi played drums on the track!
To celebrate
this Halloween we are going to release a four disc box set called simply as "GOTH'N'ROLL".
It contains our (at least according to some) classic Gothic rock albums "Blessed

Vertigo: The hungry media guarantees that it's extremely
difficult to keep one's privacy. You are a good example, having to work as
Batman while everybody knows that you're Bruce Wayne too.
J69: I'd prefer Peter Parker, I'm a chemist by profession after all. As far as
publicity goes, it depends a lot on what you want. I get invitations to tv shows
constantly, not to mention the papers, but I want to be on the open only when a
records comes out. Here in Finland many artists have to expose themselves in
order to sell their stuff. Whereas I can keep to myself like Peter Parker here,
but go all Venom in The States. They don't prevent each other from happening,
even though Venom is quite a dude.
